The 10 yard at a glance

Dimensions

14 ft long × 7.5 ft wide × 3.5 ft high

Capacity

10 cubic yards — about 3 pickup truck loads

Weight included

1–2 tons in the flat rate

Debris needs to stay below the container's top rail on every size so our driver can haul it safely — that holds whether it lands on your driveway or, on the rare job that needs a public right-of-way instead, wherever Manatee County 311 or Bradenton Public Works confirms is allowed.

Is this the one?

When the 10 yard is the right call

The 10 yard is the size people underestimate most. It has the smallest number on the list, so it gets read as the box for small jobs, when its real job is handling the heaviest material we haul. Florida regulates construction and demolition debris under DEP Rule 62-701.730, which requires C&D debris to be processed at a permitted materials-recovery or disposal facility — the Bradenton-area Lena Road Landfill is that kind of facility, and it does not accept a mixed load, so concrete, dirt, brick and general remodel debris need to stay separated by type. Keeping dense material in its own 10 yard from the start, rather than mixed into a bigger box, is exactly what makes that separation easy.

At 14 ft long × 7.5 ft wide × 3.5 ft high, it holds about 3 pickup truck loads and carries a 1–2 ton weight allowance sized for dense debris, not bulk. The low side walls make it the easiest box to hand-load, which matters on a single-room strip-out or a small roofing tear-off — up to about 15 squares fits comfortably. It's also the shortest container we run, which is exactly why it sits square on the tighter lots common on Anna Maria Island — Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach and Anna Maria all have closer-in streets and older, narrower driveways — and in the historic Cortez fishing village, without crowding the sidewalk or a neighbor's fence line. Almost every 10 yard we deliver in and around Bradenton sits entirely on the customer's own driveway; a public right-of-way permit only enters the picture if the box has to sit on the street instead, and that's a question worth confirming with Manatee County 311 (311@mymanatee.org) or City of Bradenton Public Works, (941) 932-9400, when you call.

Straight advice: If the pile is dense — concrete, dirt, brick, block — this is the container regardless of how small the job feels. Keep debris below the top rail, keep it separated by material type so it clears a permitted C&D facility without a hitch, and you're set; a bigger container does not help with heavy material, it just costs more to move.

Ideal for

  • Single-room gut jobs and small residential cleanouts
  • Concrete, dirt, brick and block — heavy material stays in a 10 or 15, never bigger
  • Small roofing tear-offs, up to roughly 15 squares
  • Tighter Anna Maria Island driveways in Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach and Anna Maria
  • Cortez fishing-village lots and older, closer-in Samoset and Oneco streets
  • Snowbird-season single-room turnovers on a seasonal or vacation property
  • Any load where weight, not volume, is the limiting factor

10 Yard Dumpster questions

What are the dimensions of a 10 yard dumpster?

About 14 ft long by 7.5 ft wide by 3.5 ft high. It's the shortest container we run, which is exactly why it fits into a tighter driveway — a closer-in lot on Anna Maria Island, or an older street in Cortez, Samoset or Oneco — where a longer box would not sit square.

Can I put concrete, dirt, brick or block in a 10 yard dumpster?

Yes — this is one of the two sizes built for it, alongside the 15 yard. Florida's C&D debris rule requires that material be routed to a permitted facility, and it isn't accepted mixed with general debris, so keeping dense material separated in its own 10 yard from the start is exactly what makes that easy. Anything bigger runs into its weight allowance long before the box is anywhere near full.

Is a 10 yard big enough for a roofing job?

For a smaller roof, yes — up to roughly 15 squares. Roofing suits the 10 and the 20 specifically; describe the square footage and layer count when you call and we'll confirm which of the two fits, and remember the weight allowance is 1–2 tons on this size.

Do I need a permit for a 10 yard dumpster in my driveway?

In most cases, no. A permit is only a question if the container has to sit on a public street instead of your own driveway or property. Almost every 10 yard we deliver sits entirely on a driveway, and if yours is the exception, Manatee County 311 (311@mymanatee.org) or City of Bradenton Public Works, (941) 932-9400, can confirm exactly what's needed for your address when you call.
